New Jaguar Project 7 inspired by Jag's D-Type

Jaguar's Project 7 concept had make its dynamic debut at the 2013 Goodwood Festival of Speed on 12th July. Project 7 is a brand new design study based on Jaguar's acclaimed F-TYPE - its all-new, two-seater, convertible sports car. Powered by a 550PS version of Jaguar's 5.0-litre Supercharged V8 engine, Project 7 can hit 60mph in 4.1 seconds, and a limited top speed of 186mph. This short film shows Project 7 complete its final shakedown run before Goodwood.



Project 7's name acknowledges Jaguar's winning of Le Mans seven times between 1951-1990 -- a record for a British manufacturer -- and its blue paintwork is reminiscent of the victorious Jaguar D-types of 1956/1957. If you look carefully, you may even see a D-type in the film...

2013 Novitec Tornado Lamborghini Aventador 969hp

The Novitec Torado Lamborghini Aventador features dual superchargers in typical Novitec style to boost power up to 969hp. The sledgehammer performance is matched with a high-performance exhaust system, electronic sound management, a coil-over suspension kit and exclusive interior options.



The front will greet you with unique details such as the new two-piece Novitec Torado front spoiler, the central front blade and newly designed air intakes. The side sports similar cues with rocker panels, carbon-fiber mirror covers and the new side air intakes fitted to the rear windows.

Moving on to the rear side, you find a new rear wing, available in two sizes, to help increase downforce on the rear axle. Novitec Torado also fit a new diffuser which can be expanded into a double diffuser. For air flow, there are larger air intakes and outlets for the hood that work hand in hand with the new air vents in the rear. Last is the new trunk lid with integrated air ducts.



The new aerodynamic components are available in the vehicle color or even in contrasting color finishes. You can order them in a clear-coated carbon-fiber version too. Each part has been tested in a wind tunnel and has been optimized to reduce negative lift on the front axle. This means that the car maintains its original stability but increases down force at high speeds.



The Novitec Torado Lamborghini Aventador sits on three-piece NL1 alloy wheels with five-twin-spoke design. They measure 9Jx20 inches on the front axle and 13Jx21 inches on the rear axle. These wheels are then shod to 255/30 ZR 20 Pirelli P-Zero high-performance tires at the front and 355/25 ZR 21 in the rear. The entire setup rides perfectly on sports suspension with an option of sports springs that lower the height by 30mm.

The power options, as we’ve said above, include a twin supercharger kit that lifts the Aventador’s power output to 969hp. Additionally there are two different performance upgrades avaialble. One Stage 1 upgrade that adds 48hp to a total of 748hp. This is made possible through the newly calibrated engine electronics with a specially designed mapping for ignition and injection and a new exhaust system. The exhaust system is available in stainless steel or in the lighter INCONEL material, which is also used in the Formula 1. Customers can also have the exhaust system equipped with an active flap to manually control the noise level at the touch of a button.

625 Horsepower Expected from Adrenaline Rush C7

What exactly constitutes the Adrenaline Rush package, you ask? The package offers the ideal balance of supercar performance and stunning good looks. Wearing a matte exterior, the car features an aerodynamic body kit with a new front apron, revised side skirts, a sporty rear diffuser and a fixed rear wing. Other goodies include a sport suspension, tinted windows, and black 20-inch wheels.

Inside, the cabin boasts Alcantara upholstery, white carbon fiber trim, and two-tone sport seats.



To give the car some extra kick, the 5.2-liter V10 has been outfitted with a revised ECU, a high-flow air filter, and a sport exhaust system (which weighs 22kg less than the stock unit). Thanks to these tweaks, the engine produces 600 PS (441 kW / 592 hp) - an increase of 40 PS (29 kW / 39 hp).



No word on pricing, but the car is currently available for purchase.

Korres Project 4 - First Greek Supercar!

Doesn't look great, but with an innovative suspension and Corvette's engine can shame a lot other supercars

The Korres Project 4 will make it's debut at 2nd Tatoi Circuit race organised by FILBA at June 16 2013. The car is  a design and a  construction effort by the a Greek Architect and Inventor,  Dimitris Korres.

The most significant part of the first Greek supercar it is it's  special suspension, designed by Dimitris Korres. The suspension can change the cars height, either the right side of the car either the left. So went the car turns right and the centrifugal power pushes the chasis to push down the front and rear left suspension, so the car bends left, the Korres suspension lower the right side of the car overcoming the centrifugal power. So instead the car to be throw out of a corner the car grips better and goes faster around a corner. The cars  height can be raise by 400 mm.

The other great thing about the Korres Project 4 is the engine. The car is offered with the LS7 Corvette Z06 engine. The  7.0-liter naturally aspirated engine delivers  505 hp.  Korres Project 4  does 0-100 km / h in 3.8 seconds and has a top speed of 300 km / h.

Toyota’s Incoming Chairman Says He Wants Supra-Like Sports Car

Toyota Motor Corp’s incoming chairman said he wants the sports car the company is developing with BMW to be a midsize vehicle comparable to the Toyota's legend, Supra.



Takeshi Uchiyamada has been telling people that Toyota’s next sports car should be like the Supra so that it doesn’t overlap with the GT86 coupe, he said in an interview yesterday in Osaka at a gathering of members of the Keidanren, Japan’s biggest business lobbying group. Still, such decisions are up to engineers, Uchiyamada said.

“That’s what I want but it’s not me who makes the decision,” said Uchiyamada, who’s known within Toyota as the “father of the Prius” for his work developing the world’s best-selling gasoline-electric car. “It’s futile if we make something similar” to the 86, he said.



Toyota and BMW announced this year they will jointly produce a midsize sports car as part of a broader collaboration between the two. Should Uchiyamada, who’s leading the negotiations with BMW, get his wish, Toyota would be reviving a model that was last produced in 1999 after a 20-year run.

Toyota spokesman Naoto Fuse declined to comment beyond saying nothing has been decided.

Video: The Mercedes SLS AMG Electric Drive Set A Nurburgring Record

With lap time of 7:56.234 minutes... Mercedes-AMG  sets a new record at the Nordschleife  for an electric car with it's SLS Electric Drive

Daimler announced that the electric AMG super sports car mastered the legendary track in under 8 minutes. The SLS AMG Electric Drive circled the Nurburgring Nordschleife or north loop in a record time of 7:56.234.

"Mercedes-AMG is the first vehicle manufacturer which makes it possible to circle the Nordschleife in under eight minutes with an electrically powered series production vehicle," said the automaker in a statement.

The car is the most powerful launched by the AMG division. The SLS AMG Electric Drive churns out 751 horsepower and has a top speed of 155 mph. It sprints from zero to 62 mph in 3.9 seconds.



The Mercedes AMG electric car goes on sale this month in Germany at the U.S. equivalent of $552,552. There are no plans to sell the car in the U.S. It is the world's most expensive EV.

BMW Z3M Coupe... The coolest hatch ever!

It's called "coupe" thought I say it's a hatch, the Hottest Hatch ever build!

This particular one Z3M is one of the 7 available in Turkey.  The owner says that he was waiting - searching for 10 years for this one... (Why not import one? ). Never mind the Z3M Coupe is wildest hatch ever made. I believe it was wrong that BMW called it a Coupe, cause there are even better coupes in BMW lineup such as  M3 E46 etc.

The original BMW M Coupe was built as a side-project alongside the Z3 and was available from 1998 - 2002. Since production ceased, its reputation has grown and is destined to become a future classic amongst petrol-heads. The Z3 M Coupe is one of the most unique and focussed driving machines to come out of BMW since the E30 M3

Mercedes SLS AMG Black Series driven at Paul Ricard Circuit

SLS AMG GT Black Series, is the best SLS yet.

It is the fifth Black Series model yet to erupt from Affalterbach, among with C 63 AMG Coupé Black, SL65 AMG etc.



It's not at all the one we'd tap for a street drive or a road trip. In the imaginary fleet we maintain in the garages of our mind, that's exactly as it should be, since the SLS AMG GT Black Series could be the best track machine Mercedes has ever built.

2013 Ford Mustang Shelby GT 500 Super Snake with 850 hp

When Ford released the 662-horsepower Mustang Shelby GT500, Shelby American wasn’t content. So on its own, the legendary aftermarket tuner went back to the design board – and upped the power to 850 horses.

Shelby recently sent an “independent test driver” down to Brandenton Motorsports Park in Brandenton, Florida to put the 2013 Shelby GT500 Super Snake to the test at the drag strip. Amazingly, the driver was able to make a quarter-mile run in 10.66 seconds, hitting 137 miles-per-hour.

Even more impressive? He did it all with pump gas and street tires.

Shelby brags that the Super Snake is “more than just raw power and ridged track performance. Owners can drive this car every day with its docile and comfortable ride in normal traffic situations.” We drove the standard Ford Shelby GT500 and if the Super Snake is anything like it, the good folks at Shelby aren’t just blowing smoke.

But what will an extra 188 horsepower cost you over the stock $54,650 GT500 from your local Ford dealer? Why, just an extra $39,995 is all.

At just shy of $100,000, the Shelby Super Snake is surely best suited for someone with a big checkbook and who also doesn’t know that the Nissan GT-R exists, which will do the quarter-mile in 10.8 seconds and for less money.

Only 500 of the Super Snakes will be built at Shelby American in Las Vegas, so it’s sure to be a classic in 30 years time. While we love calculating cars like the Nissan GT-R, there’s something to be said about the bullheadedness of a true American pony car like the Super Snake.

2013 Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG

This may not be a Black Series... but this Black Mercedes is  more expensive that SLS AMG

The Looks

Looking at the AMG car there aren't much words to say, the SL65 is simply stunning. The rear of the car with the led lights and the double exhaust pipes  is stealing the show.  I never really liked the front of the present SL-Class generation (R231). So I would love to see the car with the R230 front and this great piece of.. rear.

Inside the thing are typical for Mercedes-Benz (especially that for Merc that costs over $200.000). The quality of materials and assembly is above any questions and there are some amazing details, like the transmission shifter

The Performance

As mentioned above SL65 is more expensive that the SLS and besides it's more expensive,  has more horsepower as well.  But less put first things first. So, this is the 2013 SL65 AMG. It has a 6.0lt V12 engine, that helped by two turbochargers,  produces 621 bhp @ 4.800rpm  and 1.000 Nm of torque. So, the numbers are extreme. And the question is if this car needs such "numbers". Mercedes says that, yes it does, because there are some customers, as they say, that want a car from the higher shelf that simply no one else can afford.  So, when Mercedes decides to make a car expensive they just put a base-price over $214.000, $8.000 more than the SLS AMG.  Which is weird because the SLS should be the car that everyone would thing that is extraordinary.

Besides the price policy the SL65 is half second slower  than the SL63 at  50 to 70mph acceleration and it is not the best Mercedes Benz ever built. And definitely is not better (not even better looking) that the 2007 SL65 Black Series.

But the truth is that this one is not trying to be the best. This car is built to look great, to impress and when asked to run fast as hell in a straight way. And at this tasks it has really only few competitors, and no one of them  can drop it's roof on a sunny day...

It should make for a fascinating battle. The Ferrari F12 is one of the punchiest cars to wear the Prancing Horse badge, its 6.3-litre naturally aspirated V12 engine producing 730bhp and 509lb ft, enough to hustle the 1630kg past 211mph via a 3.1sec 0-62 time. With a seven-speed DCT gearbox, rear-wheel drive and a host of electronic trickery - E-Diff, F1-Trac - it weighs in at £239,736.

 

The Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 trumps the F12 for drama, and they trade blows closely on paper. Its mid-mounted 6.5-litre V12 drives all four wheels with 690bhp and 509lb ft, allowing the F12 a small victory, but its sleeker shape and 1575kg kerbweight result in a swifter 2.8sec 0-62 time and 217mph top speed. It costs more, at £247,000.

The relative bargain of the group is the £189,995 Aston Martin Vanquish. It has the same front-engine, rear-drive layout as the Ferrari. But with a less potent 565bhp 5.9-litre V12 up front and with a heftier 1739kg to shift, it's more sluggish with a 4.1sec 0-62 time and 183mph top speed. It's a more subtle, friendly approach to the supercar recipe, though, which could win it favours against the more brutal Italians.

2013 Corvette Stingray...

There's nothing wrong about the new Stingray. But, there's a but...

So, the new model, named C7 is definitely better looking  that the C6  and C5. It seems a better car as well, the specs are better, the power is increased and the handling is better. So someone may ask what is wrong ?

As mentioned in the heading there's nothing really wrong, besides the  four silly exhaust pipes at the back of the car every thing else is nice. But there' is still a but... The bad - or should i say "but"- thing about the C7 is that is called Stingray. And that means that it must be compared to this one...
