The new BMW M3+1

The new BMW M4 (or as I prefer to call it M3+1), it is revealed. The grand premiere will be at Pebble Beach.

The top version of the new BMW  4-Series is finally here!

New BMW M4

BMW Says

"The BMW Concept M4 Coupe reflects the BMW M philosophy in ideal form," says M chief Dr Friedrich Nitschke. "It combines motor racing genes and unrestricted everyday suitability in a highly emotional overall concept. For four generations, the BMW M3 has put motor racing on the road, and the BMW Concept M4 Coupe consistently continues to pursue this fundamental idea."

New BMW3+1 Specs

Though BMW is being shy with the tech stuff, we have an idea of what some of the meat will taste like: it'll most probably sport a modified version of the 435i's 3.0-litre turbocharged six-pot engine up front, producing somewhere around 450bhp, together with a DCT gearbox and a limited slip diff. It'll also be lightweight, and it'll be suitably hardcore. There might - might - even be a hardcore CSL version in the works, too, so imagine this on lovelier rims and a revised front apron.

Video: Alonso drives LaFerrari

F1 Driver Fernando Alonso takes the 963hp Ferrari LaFerrari for a spin around Maranello

Before heading for Budapest and the Hungarian Grand Prix, Fernando Alonso had the opportunity to assess for himself the very latest phase of development of the quickest car ever produced in Maranello for everyday road use, not just exclusively on track; the LaFerrari.

Alonso drives LaFerrari

Today, we present a video made at the time: judging from his efforts, Fernando enjoyed every one of the 963 horsepower on offer from the combination of the V12 engine (800) and the electric motor (163) which powers the first hybrid car to come through the gates on Via Abetone Inferiore. Along with his team-mate Felipe Massa, the Spaniard was involved right from the start in the project and even on this occasion he contributed valuable insights to the team of engineers and test drivers involved in bringing to life and developing this extraordinary car.

2015 Mercedes-Benz SLC ?

A supposedly unofficially confirmed rumor coming from inside Mercedes-Benz has shaken the automotive industry these days. It appears that, after a close analysis, the executives have decided to apply a setback to the SLC AMG supercar, once slated to be released as series product in the second part of 2014.

illustration-2016-mercedes-benz-slc

The main concern is the fact this project could be too resource-consuming for the company in its current shape and therefore it was sent all the way to the development table again, to see if costs can somehow be decisively reduced for the sake of motoring enthusiasm. We feel fans don't have to worry the SLC AMG might be put to rest in the end, as the car was already given the greenlight for production some months ago. All in all, the new mid-sized hyper model baring the Star logo should be publicly revealed towards 2016, with the postponement taken into consideration.

Based on the global success of the SLS AMG, the little brother SLC is already looking to be an ace in the fleet of the Affalterbach-based firm. A more dynamic body with conventional doors and possibly two new engine choices, V6 and V8 - both of them biturbocharged, a peak output in excess of 500 hp and a complete sports ride management package from AMG are the tough arguments in the fight against the Porsche 911, the main target the SLC is aiming for.

Hyundai Genesis Coupe... Korean Joy Machine!

Hyundai Genesis Coupe... One of the best ways to spend $24,250.-

Just a few years ago if you told us that Hyundai would be as successful of a brand as it is now, we would have laughed it off. It’s obvious that many of us are still stuck in the past and feel that Hyundai will never be “worthy”. The truth is that numbers and facts don’t lie. Most affordable, Best Warranty, Most fuel efficient, just to name a few of the things that Hyundai has going for it. Anatoli out of Kent, Washington obviously realized all this and got himself a Genesis Coupe about a year ago. During that time he has invested a ton of time and money into his pride and joy as it clearly shows. Please allow us to introduce you to Anatoli and his extremely clean 2010 Hyundai Genesis Coupe.

Photos By: Raphael Dayrit exclusively for StanceNation.com

He started with an aftermarket front mount intercooler, a HKS SSQIII BOV, AEM 3′ inch downpipe, and a DC sports 3′ inch cat back dual quad tipped exhaust. After that came the exterior. M&S custom front lip, which sits pretty low to the ground, M&S front grill, Sequence X- GT wing, and painted black headlight housing, just to name a few. It’s still relatively stock looking (besides the wheels) but it’s got just enough of the “personal touches” on it to make it stand apart from others. What do you think about these aggressive lines as seen in the photo below? Sexy, if you ask us..hmm!

So why did we choose to feature this Genesis? Fitment and overall appearance of it are on point, but what we really love is the uniqueness of it. There are only a handful Genesis Coupes out there doing it right (which we hope to show you soon) though chances are you probably won’t see one sitting proper in person. The wheels on this particular coupe are Varrstoens 2.2.1′s in 19×9.5 in the front and 19×10.5 in the rear with +22 offset. Suspension? Anatolis choice were BC Racing coilovers. Hit the Read More button below for more photos! Big shouting to Raphael Dayrit for photos!

BMW Z3M Coupe... The coolest hatch ever!

It's called "coupe" thought I say it's a hatch, the Hottest Hatch ever build!

bmw_z3m_coupe_1

This particular one Z3M is one of the 7 available in Turkey.  The owner says that he was waiting - searching for 10 years for this one... (Why not import one? ). Never mind the Z3M Coupe is wildest hatch ever made. I believe it was wrong that BMW called it a Coupe, cause there are even better coupes in BMW lineup such as  M3 E46 etc.

The original BMW M Coupe was built as a side-project alongside the Z3 and was available from 1998 - 2002. Since production ceased, its reputation has grown and is destined to become a future classic amongst petrol-heads. The Z3 M Coupe is one of the most unique and focussed driving machines to come out of BMW since the E30 M3

Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG full review by Autocar

Mercedes' take on a hot hatch gets four-wheel drive and a punchy turbocharged motor, but is it as engaging as its bigger rear-drive brethren?

Merc-a45-amg_0016

AMG, purveyors of wonderfully potent big cars, has made a wonderfully potent small one in the form of the Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG.

To be precise, it delivers 355bhp from a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine with a mammoth specific power output of 178bhp per litre. And the technical changes to this car run deep, which is why the A45 AMG costs near enough £40,000.

Over and above the A-class hatch on which it's based, the A45 gets a new bumper and grille at the front, which wouldn’t be significant were they not backed by an intercooler for the turbo, while there’s a secondary radiator inside a front wheelarch.

Merc-a45-amg_0017

The steering knuckles are different as well, as are the anti-roll bars, springs and dampers. The electric steering’s constant-ratio rack is bespoke to the AMG too, further differentiating it from the A-class.

The gearbox is a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic, and here’s where the effort has really gone into making this more than just a fast A-class. It drives through Mercedes’ 4Matic system, making the A45 AMG four-wheel-drive. To that end, the multi-link rear suspension is new, while to improve weight distribution, the clutch that enables drive to the rear is mounted at the rear differential.

'Enables' drive to the rear? Er, yeah. The A45 is four-wheel drive, but only when slip occurs does it push power to the rear. The 4Matic system is designed to aid traction, rather than providie rally-replica-style permanent all-wheel drive. Does that matter? It might.

Meantime, inside, this A-class feels like an AMG ought to. The black headlining, diddy gear selector and carbonfibre-like fabric weave are neat; the red seatbelts and vent highlights we could live without. The terrific front seats are heavily adjustable and clenching yet comfortable, while the rest of the A-class package is as-you-were: respectable rear head and legroom and a big boot.

Nissan Reportedly Reworking Dacia Duster into a New Terrano

Dacia has won a lot of praise for its honestly priced lineup of cars, which have convinced many buyers that “cheap doesn’t mean bargain basement.” The Duster, which is also badged as a Renault in some markets, including Russia and India, is gaining popularity, and its reviews are generally positive.

Dacia-Duster-Terrano-3[6]

Now, Nissan reportedly wants its own version of the 4x4, which it will name the Terrano, reviving an older nameplate, used from 1993 to 2006. Autocar India is sure of this, adding that the Nissan model will be around $1,000 more expensive than the vehicle on which it’s based. The report seems to confirm a pair of patent pictures of a Nissan-faced Duster that appeared online earlier this year.

It is explained that this has to do with the agreement between Renault and Nissan when it comes to the borrowing of models. The Terrano will be more than a mere rebadge job, and is expected to feature unique bumpers, lights and other specific Nissan styling tweaks – the interior will probably only get a new steering wheel, though, so that there’s a place to put the different badge.

Dacia-Nissan-Duster-1[4][8]

Finally, the model is expected to make its market debut by the end of this year, but it has not been specified where it will be launched first or what engines buyers will be able to specify. For instance, the Russian version gets a 2.0-liter petrol engine and automatic gearbox, for the Duster, which are out of the reach of western European buyers. This means that the shell can theoretically accommodate larger engines, so perhaps a 2.0-liter DCi diesel could also be in the books, or Renault’s new1.6-liter DCi which has so far been praised in all its current uses.

White ...not Stripes - 86 Nations Army!

White Stripes  - 86 Nations Army…!

Toyota GT86... The Rocket Bunny!

I'm lovin'it... Thank you SpeedHunters!

This is first detailed look of a car that everyone has pretty much already seen. Such is the power of the internet, where news spreads as it happens and is old a day later. Except there is nothing old about the ride you see here. This is the freshest and at the same time one of the most extreme aesthetic treatments the new-gen 86 has received. Technically speaking however this is actually a Scion FR-S, the car that Kei Miura of TRA Kyoto imported into Japan…

…to develop his instantly recognizable widebody aero that everyone currently wants to get their hands on. It isn’t a first per se, as Miura actually supplied Fredric Aasbo’s GT86 with his kit ready for its first public unveil this past summer at Gatebil. Fredric’s car actually wears the master of the kit…

…shipped off to Norway just in time to be painted and stickered up for the car’s debut. The soon-to-be-turbocharged new GReddy Japan FR-S is also sporting the  same kit as is Imai-san’s Bee-Racing Subaru BRZ. But while we might have all seen it before, it’s Miura’s own car that everyone – including myself – were waiting to see.

So when he showed up this past weekend at the Slammed Society show in Fuji Speedway I made sure that I’d get a chance at immortalizing it…

…because, simply said, it looks amazing. If you are an 86/GT86/FR-S/BRZ owner, this is what your street-registered car could look like. It’s not a fully prepped pro-drift car, nor an equally extreme demo car, but the wild street car it was always meant to be in Miura’s head.

It is still very much a work in progress, but so close to completion that it was deemed more than ready to be shown off, which is why Enkei had it on their display area at the event.

After spending some time with the car, taking in all those lines and details, what comes across almost instantly is its simplicity. Rather than going against the original design of the base car, Miura concentrated on working with what was already there. An analogy would be a body builder working his muscles, toning his body rather than bolting on synthetic and fake looking implants.  There is continuity from the front…

…all the way to the back, which is finished off with the mother of all rear wings, taking obvious inspiration from the rear end of the BenSopra R35 GT-R.

Miura’s set of delicious oldschool BBS mesh rims, which suit the car down to a tee, were removed at the show and replaced with Enkei’s new deeply-concave, multi-spoke RS05RRs – “sparkle silver” on the driver’s side and “matte gunmetal” on the passenger side. While they may give the car a completely different look compared to the BBS, they are a great choice for the Rocket Bunny kitted FR-S, which manages to suit quite a lot of different styles.

Attention to detail, Enkei branded lightweight wheel nuts.

The rims used measure 18×10.5J +22 all round and are wrapped in 255/35R18 Nankang Ultra Sport tires up front and Achilles ATR Sport 265/35R18 at the rear. It was tough deciding which color the RS05RRs looked better in, the silver or the gunmetal.

Miura is a respected aero maker in Japan because he is one of a very few out there that uses CAD to design his kits, rendering them in a variety of colors and with different wheels before deciding what to go for. Once a design has been decided upon it is fed into a milling machine, which accurately shapes the negatives of the moulds out of special compressed polystyrene. This is the reason why his kits fit just as well as a stock body part…

…and why he has made a name for himself. Believe it or not, but his brands – Rocket Bunny, 6666 Customs, Number 6 – only take up a very small percentage of his time as he is contracted to produce tons of aero products for other established Japanese brands. Aside from the obvious riveted-on front and rear overfenders the FR-S’s kit also consists of a more aggressive front armed with a lip spoiler…

…to help create that initial visual impact when viewed head on.

The profile is boosted by skirts that, as they meet the rear wheel arches, emulate the curvature found up front on the lip spoiler.

There is no smoothing or blending of the overfenders, that would be totally against the Rocket Bunny way where details like the fenders need to be as in your face as possible.

And it doesn’t get more extreme than that GT-wing out back, bolted onto the rear side of the trunk…

…via a set of FRP brackets, contoured to follow the lines of the stock lid. Again, lots of exposed bolts.

The Rocker Bunny kit continues…

…with an extractor-type lower bumper section, to inject some super car looks to that rear end. Miura is currently running a straight through twin exit exhaust system which really boosts the natural “raspyness” of the flat-4 motor…strangely making it sound more like a tuned 4AG than a boxer.

Thanks to a set of KW adjustable dampers the FR-S sits just right, low enough to look good but not too low that it is undrivable.

Since the car has spent most of its time inside the TRA Kyoto HQ getting its kit fitted and being worked on, Miura hasn’t gotten to the interior quite yet.

So along with the double DIN Scion audio head unit…

…he has only had the time to swap out the stock steering wheel for something a little more sporty.

Sparkle silver or matte gunmetal? Uhm…it’s a tough choice!

Aside from the exhaust system the engine has been left stock, and by the looks of it has not even been washed since the car arrived in Japan. There’s quite a lot of white dust covering various plastic covers and the airbox, coming from all the sanding of the FRP body panels that was done during paint-prep. Much like Nakai’s RWB cars, a certain element of roughness kind of suits Miura’s rides.

Miura is not one to keep his cars looking pretty for long. He likes driving, and driving hard, so once he gets a bit of free time he will be hitting tracks like Meihan for a bit of sideways action.

The pretty Enkei wheels will have to give way to the 15-inch BBS for track use, smaller tires are cheaper after all.

Cruising around the access roads inside Fuji Speedway the FR-S looked nothing short of breathtaking. I’m probably not alone in saying this, but every time I look at these pictures I can’t help but want one! Scratch that, crave one!
